Classic silver sword and shield brooch, hallmarked 1921. The shield has knotwork panels, and Ritchie's favourite foliate pattering around the edge. Overall length approx 3".





Sword brooch by Alexander Ritchie, from the early 1920s. Celtic knotwork on the hilt section. The reverse has the marks AR and IONA inset into separate rectangles on the back of the hilt. No silver hallmark, as was common with much of Ritchie's earlier pre-ICA silverwork.
